Claudia M. Harris was already adept at building tension and reading a room long before she began writing a novel. As a stand-up comedian, she performed at lauded venues such as The Improv and The Laugh Factory to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, an education that would later inspire her fiction. A natural storyteller, Claudia won multiple StorySLAMs at The Moth, co-founded an all-female sketch comedy group whose sketches appeared on MTV and Bravo, and regularly contributed to The Huffington Post, XOJane, and The Frisky. Her background in standup and sketch comedy infuses her psychological thrillers with a razor-sharp wit, creating stories that dance between darkness and dark humor.

Beyond the stage and page, Claudia champions gender equity and co-founded WeForShe, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a gender-balanced landscape in television. The organization devoted itself to bringing more female-driven content to the forefront of development in Hollywood through practical, actionable programs (ex. the WriteHer List and the DirectHer Program). She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter where she's either writing, watching Bravo, or adding to her ever-growing TBR pile.
